About the work

Global Colours’ Glazing Medium is a water sensitive binder that will maximise the flow and spreadability of Global Colours acrylics.  It dilutes colour intensity to produce soft glazes. 

Apply to dry paint to give a wet-on-wet effect or to create transitional glazes between layers.  This technique will also allow you to recreate the wet look of any colour for easy colour matching.  When dry it is water soluble and low-sheen.

Brilliant wash effects and watercolours can be obtained by combining Glazing Medium with water and Retardant Medium, leaving the paint more water sensitive.

It can be used as a replacement for water when higher viscosity is required and as a temporary mounting agent for transfer printing.

This medium is compatible with the range of Global Colours acrylics and other mediums, working together to create a highly versatile painting system for all artists.  Not formulated for use with other brands of acrylics or mediums.

Available in 250ml jars and 1L bottles.
