Impasto Medium - 250ml Global Professional Medium

Global Colours Impasto Medium is a semi-opaque, heavy bodied modelling paste applied with a brush or palette knife to produce three-dimensional structured effects.  Mix the medium with Global Colours acrylics as an economical extender and to maintain a firm, buttery consistency.  When mixing, it will become increasingly clay-like in consistency when left to allow slight evaporation and flow can be increased by adding water or other Global Colours mediums. 

No visible colour change will occur when mixed in equal quantities with the colour.  The medium can also be used direct onto any prepared surface and then painted over when dry.  This medium will not crack and dries to a satin sheen.

Impasto Medium will reach maximum strength within two to three weeks, whereupon a rock-hard finish will be ready for sanding or carving to create varied effects.  In most circumstances it will be ready for overpainting within 48 hours.

Not suitable for use as a glue or for transparent effects, for which we recommend the Gel Medium.  This product has adhesive properties so protective clothing should be worn.  Do not delay in cleaning all equipment in soap and water.

This medium is compatible with the range of Global Colours acrylics and other mediums, working together to create a highly versatile painting system for all artists.  Not formulated for use with other brands of acrylics or mediums.
